Grizzlies Blaze Through State Championship Heat

This past weekend at the Motherlode Rifle Club the Annual California State High Power Service Rifle Championship & Dean Alley Memorial Trophy was held in Sonora, CA.

Grizzlies Alumnus, Koa Van Hoven, secured the Dean Alley Memorial Overall Winner title with a combined score of 991-42x for both days.

The Top Junior title was a thrilling battle between Andrew Brital and newcomer Natalie Gannavaram! Both athletes delivered impressive performances throughout the competition. While Andrew secured the Day 1 lead with a strong score of 487-19x, Natalie ultimately emerged victorious winning both Top Junior and Top Woman for the two day competition.

Natalie's consistency and exceptional shooting paid off with her notable performance in the rapid sitting position where on Day 1 she achieved an amazing clean with the score (100-9x) and a solid score (100-6x) on Day 2.

California's scorching heat wave didn't faze our Grizzlies, as many achieved personal bests despite temperatures reaching 109 degrees!

Here are the top CRPA State Championship Winners:

• Top Senior: Vince Van Hoven (479-13x)

• Top Woman & Top Junior: Natalie Gannavaram (488-18x) - Double Win!

• Overall Winner: Koa Van Hoven (496-22x)

The competition wrapped up with a fun-filled tradition: the annual Family & Friends BBQ and exciting raffle draws, including a grand prize and local donated items.
